Our initial electrical inspection revealed an outdated and unsafe fusebox.
We recommended a new Consumer Unit with RCBO functionality – find out why this is the smart choice.
The customer NAME HERE had repeated issues with their electrics “blowing” – requiring repeated visits to the existing fusebox to try and figure out the problem. After the breaker switches refused to turn on, a call was put in to us:
“We searched for electricians near us – PD Electrical came up with very strong reviews. We looked at their website and gave them a call. We spoke to Paul who asked focused questions, gave reassurance and help, then advised he could be with us in XX hours. ”
We carried out our standard electrical tests to analyse the existing wiring system and the specifications of the current fusebox. It was a now-discontinued brand and had been modified over its twenty-year life, meaning it was now officially outside current regulations. Paul says:
“This is a very common scenario. Electrical regs have changed many times over recent years and fuseboxes often fall foul pf this, especially if they have been adapted or customised. The sensible solution is usually to start fresh with a modern RCBO Consumer Unit – flexible, safer and more robust.”
This is a write-up of the job – pretty much a full description from initial contact through to issuing of certificates and after-care. The aim is to let potential customers know exactly what to expect from PD Electrical, and how they work. By breaking this down, you are able to show the level of care you apply to everything you do, and how you represent good value despite not always being the cheapest quote around.

“We were in a real fix when the electrics kept tripping in our house. Tried to reset the switches but it was clear we needed more help.
Paul and his team were with us rapidly and got to work. They had battery packs to keep the fridge-freezer and other appliances on, and gave us an electrical health check.
It was clear we needed to update our old fusebox, and we learned a lot about how things have changed. The new RCBO-based Consumer Unit is great – no issues so far and it is so much easier to see what is what. Charlie also fitted some new sockets and lights and issued an EICR certificate.
We were really happy with the communication throughout – the quote was clear and accurate and we felt represented good value given the high quality of the work. Many thanks to Paul and his team.”

This balances the thoughts from the customer earlier in the post.
It is a chance for a few short paragraphs from Paul, where he talks about this job from his perspective.
It is a chance to talk about how vital it is to have the fusebox inspected and to consider a modern replacement.
